When Cindy was two weeks old she was diagnosed with coarctation of the aorta, two ventricular septal defects and a bicuspid aortic valve. Her coarctation was repaired and a band was put on her pulmonary artery when she was two weeks old (January 9th 1997). Her recovery from the surgery was uneventful. But two weeks after she was released from the hospital she had to be rehospitalized for RSV. She was in the hospital for one week with RSV. She will need another surgery to repair her ventricular septal defects and to remove the band the surgeons placed on her pulmonary artery when she is six months old.
