Aunt Shannon is getting married in August and Cindy is going to be a flower girl. Aunt Shannon is crazy about Cindy but Cindy is still a little shy around Aunt Shannon.

January and February went by with no big events. Cindy does not see her Cardiologist until May. She has had several ear infections and colds. Right now she is taking antibiotics for a double ear infection. It's so easy to give her antibiotics compared to giving her digoxin. With digoxin we had to be so careful to get her dose just right. Going just a little bit over her dose could have killed her.

Cindy's surgery scar is healing nicely. You can barely see her old left thoracotomy scar, I hope her newer scar heals as well. Sometimes Cindy points to her scar and calls it an ouchie. The other day she noticed that I don't have a scar on my chest. She pointed to my chest and looked up at me quizzically. I said to her no I don't have an ouchie, she said "ouchie all gone".

Cindy will see her cardiologist tomorrow but I've almost been too busy to worry about it. That's a good thing. I had her portrait taken two weeks ago. She had a tantrum and I was afraid the pictures would not turn out at all. But they came out ok.

Good news! Cindy's diaphragm has completely healed. She is growing well but her heart rhythm was irregular at her checkup. She was having premature ventricular contractions. They had Cindy wear a heart (holter) monitor at home for 24 hours to see how often her heart rate is irregular. It was a real struggle to keep the holter monitor on her and I had to take it off after 21.5 hours so she could go to day care. The cardiology clinic had me mail the monitor back to them and said they will give me the results in one week. Her premature ventricular contractions could be nothing to worry about, a lot of people have them, but the whole family is quite worried about Cindy now.

Well no news is good news. Cindy is doing great. She will see her cardiogist next in December of 1999. In the mean time we are enjoying the summer sun by going to the beach and playing in the yard. Cindy has been helping me make raspberry jam all this week. I let her mash the berries and then I finish up the job, she thinks it is great fun. She even helps me pick the berries sometimes by putting the berries in my bucket instead of in her mouth.
